Be proactive in name choice. We raised our own when I was growing up. The first several were: Burger King, Big Mac (he was a really tasty Red Angus), Whopper, Wendy, and Stewball. After that everyone had the idea.
We have a Longhorn steer and his name is Meatloaf. :)
