My son and his girlfriend volunteer at a popular local shelter every weekend. They said to donate items instead of giving money. They get handed a lot of money, but there never is enough food and cats go without litter. Something is wrong.
I always assumed that the shelters could go buy what they needed for the animals with the monetary donations. Have I been wrong?
