Yep! - That does appear to be the motivation fot BatLady’s spouse’s appearance here.

Back in the good old days... ***sigh***
Not just NOOB, but also BOOB!
Back then, "rough-and-tumble" had far more to do with genuine disagreements over policy/politics, etc..
Today its less about genuine disagreements over policy/politics and more to do with personal attacks and/or destroying the credibility of ones opponent.
(I've unfortunately found myself guilty of that also, so pointing at myself first before pointing at others.)
I agree with you. However, there is at least one good reason that recent FR signups or with no posting history can get shown a hard time. Some folks sign up, post, and are banned because they sign up to harass, not to contribute to reasoned debate.
Nah, no Windows in the Pleistocene; we had Holes 3.1, developed by Bill Gagate.
I had a hunch that you and the bat lady’s husband were one and the same, and thanks for the confirmation!
And to be fair, there are some long term freepers who get cranky when their fave concepts are stepped on. So, if you are going to post, ya might want to develop a thicker skin.
I think he’s Gandalf.
Believe me, it does not matter how long you’ve been posting here. If you go against the majority on anything, no matter how trivial, you better be dressed for battle.
It's been going on since I started lurking. I expect there will be personal attacks on my memorial thread when I shuffle off this moral coil. ;)
Who was the lawyer type from Florida that was always threatening to sue freepers?

Newbies can sometimes be folks who sign up to harass, not discuss. They get banned rather quickly. Kind of fun to sit back and watch the process.
Yes and no. I have sometimes disagreed with the majority and pretty much find that there are a few who can get nasty. However, for the most part the disagreements are courteous. I only “listen” to the reasoned discussion, and off and on I’ve flagged comments that are otherwise.

Wow, that sure goes back a ways --- I'll be damn'ed if I can remember.
Was it the same guy that was stalking Connie (Clinton's A Liar?)
If you were looking to make an undead thread, you have to wait until January.
