I looked over the posting window before he did post because I have been posting for years.
I said something about "vanity" but the site wouldn't accept where we put it and had to take it out of that category.
I would love to include it as it is important to you and maybe others. Please tell me where exactly to say (Vanity) and thanks for mentioning in a non-namecalling way.

Not everyone can make a logical argument. In the physical world, those people tend to shut up when they are challenged to support their argument. However, in the Internet world, they revert to 3rd grade.
I suggest you learn when to make you final concise statement and let it rest, comfortable with not getting the last word.

I don’t know what potential Stockman has but I do know a little of his past.
He has been in and out of TX politics since 1990 mostly on the local level except for
one run statewide at Railroad Commissioner. He failed to get the nomination.
He has been elected twice. His biggest win was in 1994 when he knocked Jack Brooks
out of the 9th CD. He lost the following attempt at being reelected. His 2nd election
was in 2012 when he won the current seat he holds.
There are 79 days until the Primary election on Mar 4, 2014. Stockman according to
the FEC filings has some $30,000 cash on had and debts of over $200,000. Thus he is
facing a cash shortfall and time constaint to make a statewide run.
We’ll know more of his abilities within 60 days as polls, etc begin to show if he can attract
support. All in all it it will make for an interesting few months in Texas politics.
On one hand, I completely agree with you. On another, one has to understand that this is a general public board and they pretty much let anybody post.
I remember not long ago I said something sarcastic about dogs. Now, I own a dog, but you’d of thought I personally went out and killed Lassie! Very, very mean comments, and I’m regular poster! It was eye-opening to say the least.

FR is a great place to go if you want to find out that conservatives and libertarians are just as susceptible to bad logic and poor argumentation skills as liberals and socialists.
Far as I can see, with the exception of #50 and possibley #44, ONLY Noobs, BNG or FNG are the only ones that responded to you.
At the Tun Tavern a young man walked in and saw a booth saying USMC Recruiter.
He ambled over, and before he knew it he was the Very FIRST enlisted Marine. After signing up, they gave him a couple of beer chits and was told the wagon would be by to take him and ‘the others’ to PI.
A second young lad did likewise and upon finishing, was given One beer chit and told to wait in the bar.
Upon sitting at the bar, #2 said “Not bad, just joined the Marines and they gave me a free beer”.
To which #1 replied
“BACK IN THE OLD CORPS WE GOT TWO BEERS”

No matter what else and how much flak you receive, your post is well written. We must remember though, Freepers are somewhat like Christians. There are those who walk the walk and those that are idiots. You might say though, “saved” idiots. I have been on FR for many years and still get humbled by some of the intelligence that appears here. Take the good and dump the stupid.

Oh my, where to begin...been posting since 2004 but still feel like a noob and don’t know when that feeling goes away. Not a big techie so don’t know how to find out how long someone has been with FR but really don’t care...it’s in the content of their character, er, postings, that matter to me and I’ve always thought that if you put anything out there on line, be prepared to have it chopped off. Remember, you don’t have to be in the same room with any of these people...

All internet fora, over time, are hijacked by people who are there to shout and scream and pick fights. It makes them feel better about themselves, I suppose. But, it has the effect of driving many people away who grow weary of the childish nonsense.
That has certainly happened here. Many of our best conservative thinkers and commentators are long gone and we are poorer for it. The self appointed gatekeepers attack anyone who does not conform to there particular view of conservatism, although exactly what that might be is a little hard to discern given sentence fragment posts and thin hyperbole.
It’s the nature of the internet beast, especially where free and open discussion is encouraged.
