Can you have missed the whole point?

The route to success is to challenge the RINO at the primary level where you have a fighting chance of victory, rather than going sellout party in the general where you will always be doing a Perot, and handing a victory to the Marxist.

No, I'm well aware of that and totally agree. But it doesn't work out all that often due to the power of the incumbency, the state run media, and lack of term limits. Particularly so at the presidential level, where the R's haven't put up a candidate since Reagan that I didn't have to hold my nose to vote for, or simply refuse to vote for at all as with Bush I and McCain. And as a result of this latter admission, I expect the negative comments to come rolling in for any RINOs paying attention - even though it doesn't matter WHO I vote for at the presidential level because I live in a deep blue state.

The point was about nasty responses once it gets to the stage where the RINO wins the primary, with major GOPe, Dem & state run media support, and then the lesser-of-the-evils choice inevitably presents itself.
