Very neat. Hope you can find video or quote that you remember. Hate when I’m thinking of something and can’t find it right away.
My first recollection of O’Toole as a kid was in the Masada mini-series on TV. Great show (or at least I thought so as probably a 12 year old or so). He was totally believable in the part, which is a a sign of a good actor.
He was good in Masada! And, too, Peter Strauss. Very good soundtrack, too. I think that movie is on You Tube. Came across some links to it last year.
“This video is not available in your country.”
I’m in South Carolina. When did the USA become China?
...and so handsome.
RIP, Peter.
Yigael Yadin thought it was good with the excwption of the implausible love story.
I love this/his line from Masada toward at the end of the movie. I can hear him saying it...
Cornelius Flavius Silva: A victory? What have we won? We’ve won a rock in the middle of a wasteland, on the shores of a poisoned sea.
Oh My...I just read further, and “Lawrence of Arabia” was not FILMED in Cinerama, but used a different process...probably Panavision. But I remember seeing it in the theater in Boston that showed Cinerama films.
The last one in True Cinerama was “How the West Was Won”.
So, I have corrected myself and it is now not necessary for any of our more knowledgeable FReepers to do so. :-) LOL!
I loved that mini-series.
Goodness! We all make mistakes. I, too, saw How the West was Won in Cinerama! Another excellent movie.
I saw Lawrence in rerelease in the late 60s. I think my mother thought it was too adult for me when it first came out. Jose Ferrer at his creepiest!
I have been able to watch the whole thing again on Netflix.
Now there died a great actor.
Henry II
My favorite
That is very weird.
I live two states away from you, and didn’t have any trouble.
had a buddy prolly 20 yrs ago who ran a pizza joint - went to bermuda for a vac - ran into Otoole there and partied with him for a few days hysterical pics
Can I move in
You meet cool people
I actually know where the forks go..I swear
Neat bit of trivia. I would love to go to Masada.
Omgoodness, that would be so fun to see.
LOL! I sneaked in to see “Dr. Zhivago” when i was in the sixth grade. My Parents had said it was too adult for me because it showed two people in bed together who weren’t married.
I told Mom that Yuri and Lara most certainly WERE married. Just not to each other! :-)
Just from memory
Did he play H2 more than twice on screen
Beckett and Lion?
