LOL ... one of my shootin’ buddies has a threaded barrel 226 in 9mm ... full mag into one (big, ragged) hole, with or without the can.
I have a .40 cal 229 ... have considered getting a .357SIG barrel for it.

No experience with 357 Sig or 40 S&W, but I will second any positive comments about the Sig 226. I don't own one, but I've had time on the 226 in 9mm, and it was nice, in the sense that it felt right, is shot right, and it worked all the time.
