In the fallout over Wednesdays suspension of Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson by A&E for anti-gay and racist remarks, GLAAD is experiencing record levels of backlash. In the five-and-a-half years Ive worked at GLAAD, Ive never received so many violently angry phone calls and social media posts attacking GLAAD for us speaking out against these comments, the media watchdog organizations vice president of communications Rich Ferraro told TheWrap. He said those reactions range from those who simply believe as Robertson believes to those who feel that GLAAD and A&Es actions limit the reality stars free speech. Also read: Duck Dynasty: Inside the Decision to Suspend Phil Robertson (Exclusive) I dont think this is about the first amendment, Ferraro said. I feel its more about the America we live in today. That is one where Americans, gay and straight, are able to speak out when people in the public eye make anti-gay and racist remarks.

Thanks. Reminds me of the old Monty Python’s Flying Circus contest for the best description of Belgians. “Why not call them, “Belgians?”
Just like Obama they have overstepped the line..
Now that's a very astute observation. I hadn't even stopped to note that I have no idea what that acronym stands for. I suppose it starts with 'Gay - Lesbian....."
But you're right. Funny how the MSM automatically assumes that everyone knows what GLAAD stands for. In their world, I'm sure everyone does. Not so, out here in the real world.
“Fat, little, miserable, Belgian ba$tard$.”
Try re-phrasing it for reality, twit:
"That is one where Americans, homosexual and normal"
Wrap your disordered brain around that, and maybe you might be able to communicate with the rest of us.
It's a civil rights violation, per U.S. law. 2ndDivisionVet has posted the text here a couple dozen times on various threads. The Robertsons could press a winning case against A&E if they wanted to, on those grounds.
There are days where I regret passing on law school. This is one of them. If a moron like Benjamin Crump can become rich within that field imagine how you or I would fare.
I have absolutely no idea what the heck you are talking about.
Pointing out that someone here is repeating a Liberal Lie(obviously unintentionally) is a cheap shot?
So, if someone here attributes the phrase “I can see Russia from my House” to Sarah Palin, I shouldn’t tell them it was actually a Tina Fey joke?
Lighten up Francis.
“Advocate Power:” Sounds just like the way Germany ruled, 1933-1945.
He didn’t say squat about the civil rights movement. It was against welfare.
Yes, probably why Camille Pagilia wrote her column referencing such! Great writer even if on the left.
Duck Dynasty meets Dyke Dynasty
just let it play, let’s see who wins
Sorry, but no question just how this plays out this time! Chalk one up for the good guys! Overplayed and overdone by the left!
I think I am aware of the world. I didn’t know what GLAAD stood for till I read it yesterday.
Unfortunately, it is a problem for the right! They seem to know nothing about what is going on even though the left continues to denigrate them or persecute them - we continue on our own way and ignore the politics.
That is probably much to our own demise! If you don’t keep a watchful eye on the enemy, they will overcome you either by force or by silent action. It’s been way long past time for many of us to wake up and smell the non rose smell (shit) floating around us but we resist mostly due to our own good nature.
That does mean that you lose in the long run - pay attention or suffer the consequences! The world is a very nasty place these days!
Gay & lesbian something something something... who cares?
He’s surprised???? I bet he is more surprised that both sides of the aisle don’t support GLADD. It is a ridiculous propaganda group.
I've only seen that group mentioned here and there on FR. It's only through context in articles that I knew what they're about.
Like a lot of Freepers, I have zero contact with the homo community in real life, so I only know what I read about them in the news.
If you'd followed that path, you might now be sitting in some overbuilt house, wondering where you went off the rails in life, and wishing that you'd followed your heart instead.
I'm sure we both would have done well in the law business, but I'm grateful for what I have, and for the life I've lived. I've got a bunch of fine kids that I'm proud of. I saw the pic you posted of your son. I'll bet you're proud as hell of him too.
