The info I found indicated that there were 43 killed (42 Navy, 1 Marine) and 56 wounded. The damage was confined to the bridge, but almost everyone stationed there was either killed or wounded.
Despite suffering severe burns during the hit, Admiral Chandler helped man a firehose to douse the flames, then waited in line with the other casualties for treatment. Sadly he had inhaled part of the fireball, scorching his lungs, and he died of his injuries the next afternoon.
