True, but for certain legal proceedings (including IRS and court notices), if certified mail is sent to your "last known address," you are legally deemed to have received and read it whether you actually got it or not.
Yes, the courts and judges will rule in favor of the plaintiff if the defendant has been deemed as properly served, even if the defendant is dead.
However, there are a boat load of homeless people with no “Last known” or “permanent address” that are completely off the radar.
IMO, it comes down to this, Can you have a million dollars in the bank or in cash and claim or actually be homeless ?
