They don't just release it to anyone...I had to put him on a list of trusted people who could pick up my scripts and could be an emergency contact, plus other things...such as have access to my medical info and such. He only picks up my meds for me, and I'm blessed to have a friend such as him to help. I request his company for our transport which helps him as the org that schedules the trips stores the requests and that is used to determine which companies are used most when things are slow.
Tracy, that is just horrible about the Angelflight company - were you headed to a doctor in Augusta? Did they check you after such a near-accident? They really should be notified that the driver fell asleep - he could have killed everyone in his vehicle and/or others on the highway! They need to know that!
We were going to my son's appointment in Augusta. Our pick-up time was 5:30, he was late and got us to the appointment a few minutes late too. The driver lied and said he was trying to avoid an obstacle in the road, but I looked and there was nothing there, and there was a totally clear lane next to him that he could have shifted to also. They didn't check me out...but I made sure the organization that schedules the trips knows of his lack of driving skills...he also passed an ambulance which had it's emergency lights on...it was going the same way we were and our driver passed it (isn't that illegal?) He was speading 85 to 95 miles/hour, every time he hit a dip in the road, the lift van would bounce all over the place and that made me hurt so bad. I'm still having troubles with throbbing in my back and hip. It really hurts, and that is one of the bigger reasons I am so scared about not getting my pain meds filled...I know I'm going to hurt, I hurt daily, but the med helps a little.
That is also crazy that Cody had to go that far to a doctor - they don't have one that specializes for him in Savannah?
