So looks to me like the Denver/New England game had the better defenses.

Well, believe me, John Fox is not of that opinion, and neither is Peyton Manning. They will be worrying about a considerably better defense in two weeks than they faced this afternoon.

Kapernick’s turnovers were almost exclusively about extremely stupid decisions rather than brilliant defensive plays.

Nope. One was, two weren't. The fumble was great defense. The final interception was a great defensive play. Kapernick had to make something happen and had little choice but to go to the end zone with time running out. If not for a lucky tip, SF wins.

And Wilson running all over heck and back and fumbling on the first play, getting called for intentional grounding,

All three of those plays [two groundings where only one was called, and the opening fumble] were the result of outstanding defense. Wilson was under pressure because of an intense pass rush. He didn't throw the ball away because he wanted to. His "running" around was trying to extend the play. The opening fumble was a slash during pursuit.

You simply don't want to credit the defense. That's fine, but it's not true. Denver has a poor defense. They played way over their normal level today, to their credit, but very nearly still blew the game when they went to seven d-backs.

Yes, the Seattle area of WA is very liberal, mostly King County while all of Eastern WA is very conservative. If you look at state wide elections, all Eastern WA counties are usually red as well as many in Western WA. King County however is always very Blue which unfortunately is usually enough to carry the vote.

That being said, the Seahawks are NOT just a Seattle Team. The state supports them very well as does much of the Pacific Northwest. Are all of our players classy? No, but most of them are. I believe that Sherman was wrong getting the taunting penalty but when a person is fired up right after the game, it might be best to wait on the interview.
And yes... Russell Wilson is very much a class act.

I’ve been a Seahawk fan since their inception in the 70s, so I’m very excited about this Super Bowl. I just hope we don’t see a repeat of Superbowl XL.

GO HAWKS!!!!

I've been a 'Hawks fan since moving here in '85. Been waiting - hoping since I was a teen - for 30 years for a championship in any (real) sport. Fans from cities where the teams win every few years cannot relate, but the 49ers fans boasting about the "Quest for Six", implying that because they already have five Lombardis they're somehow entitled to a sixth makes this victory ESPECIALLY SWEET.

This may finally be the year, but it's going to exact a level of play that exceeds even their finest performances.

GO HAWKS!!!

Going by the prior election results, I don't think so:

In terms of population alone, the Denver Metropolitan Area, Boulder, and Pueblo skew the results heavily towards Democrats.

Did u even give this one iota of thought before posting? Much of CO is conservative outside Denver proper.

Sherman put out his hand to shake Crabtree’s hand.
Crabtree shoved Sherman in the face.
What, exactly, was classless and how, exactly, does it fall on Richard Sherman?
***********************************
Before putting out his hand to Crabtree, Sherman was doing the crossed hands at his (own) throat and then pulling them apart (like so many thug players do). He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. Crabtree just responded. ....That’s why Seattle got the ball at the 10 instead of the 20 (half the distance). .....Sherman is an ass and he showed it big time when Erin tried to interview him.

Sherman: From Compton to the NFL. Sherman’s mom took kids in, and he and his brother were able to stay out of the gangs.

Sherman - “student of the game”. Pretty amazing how ALL of these players are so smart when it comes to the game. Other videos talk of him “trash talking”. To Sherman and many other players it is all part of the game.

But that was against a depleted team already out of the playoffs. In playoff situations in cold weather, Peyton Manning has not done so well....

That chocking gesture by Sherman could earn him a US$20,000 or bigger fine from the NFL league offices--it could be as high as US$50,000 given the extenuating circumstances of that outburst at the end of the game in the interview with Erin Andrews.

Well, Sherman may be a thug, but Kaepernick dresses like a 18 year old thug-wannabe. I am rooting for Russell Wilson.

So what? The state remains solidly and safely "blue."

I searched the web and finally found 1 video of some popcorn falling on the cart that Bowman was on. If it was intentional, then being a long-time Seahawks fan, I, too apologize. I’ve been to games here for many years and the fans usually applaud out of respect when an injured player from the other team is carried or walks off the field. Our fans are usually pretty classy in this respect. Not making excuses, but 1 other possibility is that the popcorn inadvertently fell - - I’ve been at games when we’re talking or jumping up and down and beverages and popcorn goes flying. Regardless, I hope folks don’t hold the actions of 1 idiot against the entire Seahawks fan base. As I said, out of the many games I’ve been to over the years, most of the fans are respectful wrt injuries.

I’m very excited about a cold-weather Super Bowl. It kinda evens the field with dome or warm-weather teams, who have an advantage in dome or warm-weather locations.

I’m not sure there was a handshake. I’d have to watch again but when I saw it live it looked more like taunting to me because there was first a slap on the rear and then Sherman was in Crabtree’s face. That being the case the face shove was deserved.

But in any case, you’re supposed to be an adult. He was on live TV and there is no excuse for a ridiculous rant like that. He made himself and his whole team look stupid. If anything he should be apologizing to his teammates and the fans because he just got Denver a whole lot more fans. For which I am grateful since I live in CO and am a Bronco’s fan.

Colorado is most certainly not the most liberal state in the nation. We have an epidemic of libtards coming here from CA which has been happening for a decade now. Go outside of Boulder and Denver and you find plenty of conservatives who hate what they’re doing to this state. Ever heard of North Colorado? How about the Weld County Sheriff?
