Hannity: Escapes from New York
FM Talk 100.5 | 01/20/2014

Posted on 01/20/2014 12:29:13 PM PST by cll

In his opening monologue today, Sean Hannity announced that he is moving out of New York City, Long Island and New York State altogether for maybe Florida or Texas.

Born and raised in New York, Hannity would follow other conservative stars like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck out of the Empire State because of high taxes, high regulation and lack of freedom.

He’s still owned lock, stock, and barrel by Rupert Murdoch.

Ah, sorry.

Would be something if he moved to Texas and broadcast his Fox TV show from Beck’s facilities.

I agree that Sean gets repetitive and that his heart is in the right place. I can’t listen to him on the radio much less watch his show. Virtually everything he says is predicable.

Now, since his time slot got bumped to 10pm, (that’s gotta suck for him) I thought that Fox may be transitioning him off the air.

I think Fox will create a show for Greg Gutfeld in that 10pm slot. It could be sort of a mix between “The Five” and “Red Eye”.

Brady’s wife, Giselle, is worth more than $300 million.

I’ve seen photos of the couple’s massive home in Brentwood, on the Westside of Los Angeles. Nice digs. I’ve also seen photos of their seaside home in Florida. Nice property, too. Didn’t know about the $14 million New York apartment. Since his wife is a model, I imagine she needs to be in New York frequently.

Between Tom and his wife, I don’t believe their money will be running out anytime soon.

Hannity at 10pm has better ratings then all of the news shows in all of the timeslots on the other channels.

He’s 4th on Fox, slightly over Megyn who took his timeslot.

Yeah, but it’s hard to uproot from your roots and move your kids, wife etc. from all their friends and family. Too bad New York has gotten so bad. Good luck to them."

You are correct. It breaks the heart, but here comes a time when it must be done in order to make a better life for your family and yourself. I did just that when I left my native Virginia. I last gazed upon her from the Cumberland Gap during a howling snow storm. I got out of the car for a final look back, and vowed to return only one last time, to bury my elderly mother; when all ties are finally severed forever.

"You may all go to Hell. I shall go to Texas."

Fox just built him a new TV studio on Long Island and his new radio flagship WOR-AM (Clear Channel) built him a new radio studio as well. But that doesn’t mean he has to stay in NYC; if he moves to Naples (near his good friend Neal Boortz), he could build a studio in that location, or drive to the FNC bureau in Miami for his show. I’ve also heard he has a home studio for radio on Long Island so he could duplicate that arrangement in FL as well.

As for Texas, Glenn Beck has acquired a 72,000 square foot radio and TV complex in the DFW area that produces most of the content for TheBlaze TV. I’m sure that Shawn could lease studio space in that complex for radio and TV broadcasts.

Don’t blame him for leaving New York. The state has a rather quaint provision in its tax law; if you’re a high-income earner, such as an entertainer or athlete, the state of New York still collects its share from your pay that was earned while working there, even if you’re in town for only a couple of days, or in the case of an athlete, for a single game.

That’s one reason Rush was audited by New York state for years after he left; with a gross income of $1 million a week, New York was looking for any reason to get into Rush’s pocket, and they were always looking for a business meeting or any other event that brought him to New York and provide a reason for taxation.

Last I heard, Rush was looking for a new hurricane evacuation location, so he wouldn’t have to relocated to NYC when storms threaten south Florida.

If Sean is smart, he will sever all ties to New York and reestablish his base in FL or Texas. At his income level, he save millions over the next 10 years by relocating.

The old communist block put up fences and watchtowers. Commie N.Y. will simply harass those who leave with tax audits. And....the commies of N.Y. will also call in the feds to harass the “Leavers” with IRS, Homeland Security, FBI, OSHA, and every other alphabet agency.

His kids are so into tennis, I would imagine IF he really leaves NY, he’ll go to FL.

Friends of my family, currently in upstate NY, are planning to move in one year as soon as husband retires. Politics are a major factor but gun legislation took him over the line. He’s already moved non-compliant weapons to his son-in-law’s house in another state. NY will loose two adults, both with Social Security and private pensions, to another state. In addition they will carry their accumulated wealth with them. How’s that working for you New York?
