Our far flung extended family have an exclusive family page that is non public where we can share family news and photos. Sure we could start a website that does the same thing but then somebody would have to design and maintain it.

Hubby and son maintain a FB page devoted to their mutual hobby (stock car racing) that they use to communicate with other hobby racers and their fan base.

I maintain a business FB page that actually does bring in business and I haven even used any of the paid promotion apps.

All free.

You don’t have to accept friend requests and you can unfriend anyone who becomes a pita. The writer of this little screed sounds like a whiny 8th grader who just got unfriended by most of his clique. I am unimpressed.

Exactly; it’s simply a tool to use as you wish. Easy enough to make it stupid; but that’s your choice.

I’m not on it much but I do like how the extended family gets to relay news and pics of the recent extended members of the family. And I do enjoy the levity that my old friends and family are wont to post there. I think it’s harmless. Would I pay for it? No. Will I continue to look at it and make the occasional quip? You betcha.
