Regarding the $2.13 per hour for wait staff, how many actually work for that? When I last tended bar (about ten years ago) the waitresses started at the state minimum wage, which was around $5.25 at the time.

From the beginning I knew that when you scratch him, BORe is a unique three-bagger....a socialist/statist/populist...the very epitome of success for a media careerist.

His next achievement? A new book...."Killing America"....then, interviewing the new Pope.....and then on to the Nobel Peace Prize.

Can someone explain to me how this fool’s ratings remain so high? I’m serious. Conservatives have abandoned his show, I would hope.

I would assume those people have to have some intelligence to do that Job, thus eliminating most Democrats and Liberals.

BOR is about as competent in economics as he is with gun rights. When he made clear several years ago that he thought "assault weapons" are machine guns, I stopped watching. I sent him an email but received no response. He either doesn't want to know the truth or chooses not to make use of it.

As far as the minimum wage goes, it's my understanding that many union contracts have wages that are tied to the minimum wage. If you double the minimum wage, you may just double many union wages, with no need to re-negotiate the contracts. The effect of this on our economy is probably much larger than many admit.

Republicans should make clear that they will all vote "present" to any bill introduced by a Democrat to TRIPLE the minimum wage. Let the Democrats live with the economic consequences or explain to their constituents why such a thing is bad for the economy. I'll bring the popcorn.

He’s a typical leftist cheapskate. $10 an hour. Why not make it $1000 Bill, starting with your interns and employees? Liberals like him claim to want an end to poverty but can only recommend minuscule baby steps that only perpetuate the poverty. Another guilty mega millionaire who can only spend other people’s money.

Bill O’Reilly. I agree with him. No one can live on $8 an hour. Minimum wage jobs are no longer starting learning experience jobs. They are the only jobs some people can find. The days of min wage jobs being starter jobs is long gone. We’ve sunk that low.

A starving man will work for food. If minimum wage is only work available it kinda blows a hole in your theory.

Great way to destroy jobs.

I think that was already accomplished wouldn't you say. Or is the unemployment rate at all time lows?

Using your argument, multi-million dollar salaries and bonuses destroy jobs, right?

Only if you leave the crony capitalism dimension out.

That is what is destroying our economy and our country. We have gotten so far away from conservative business principles. The result has been to make minimum wage jobs that should go to teens as starter jobs and made them the main source of income for families and heads of households.

Too much money sucking out of the bottom by the top.

And why beat around the bush with the euphemism “crony capitalism” and just call it what it really is, corruption.
