Since this is a computer question thread, can I ask a quick question? I installed Skype so I could see and talk to my son who just deployed. But, when I got him on Skype, I could see my son, but not TALK to him.

Earlier today, in order to get audio for a link here on FR, I installed Adobe Flash Player. Will that help me get the audio?

Skype has a self-test mode. Try it. It might even offer suggestions. (I haven’t used it in a while but I did have a similar problem once.)

I intially had the audio problem with Skype.

It seemed to start up with the computer audio on MUTE.

Check to make sure Skype has not defaulted your audio to MUTE.

You might need to check your audio drivers, but check the Skype audio settings first.
