It will be great for some applications, but as for most novels themselves, I’d rather linger and enjoy the rhythm and the prose.

same here... this is unappealing to me... i like to linger when i am reading some books...

Wow! Maybe we could get congress to actually read the bills they vote on!

Haha. I know. Funny stuff.

What if you can already read a novel in 90 minutes? (or generally less)

That works OK all the way up until you glance away from the page due to real life and a bunch of the book scrolls by. They need to couple it with that Samsung thing that pauses video when you look away.

Brilliant!

I like it for use in a work environment where deadlines and other time factors come in to play.

Reading for pleasure and relaxation I think I’d still prefer to set my own pace.

Cliff Notes for Cliff notes.

For example: The Old Man and the Sea. An old guy catches a really big fish but sharks eat most of it. The End.

Not really my thing but I did notice that I was more comfortable the faster (500 wpm) it played. Almost like a game trying to keep up.

Actually most of the studies say higher speed gives better comprehension. Reasons vary, some think it’s just because it’s not taking you as long so you don’t have as many distractions, some think it’s because larger chunks are hitting your brain at one time and comprehension is really about associating multiple sentences.

I’m a multi-tasker who tends to read while watching TV, so unless it can pause when I look away it’s a non-starter. But it’s a neat idea.

Ok...it's pretty cool. It's comfy at 600wpm but I think I would like to be able to crank it up.

I'm not sure I would want to read a novel in this fashion but I would give it a shot. I didn't think I would like e-readers either but I've adapted.
