We are looking at some rain Thurs, and the weekend.

I have not done much today to justify my O2 consumption. Mounting the new easy read rain gauge was the big event. I also de-constructed a Chinese made pallet that was 100% plywood, even the corner blocks were laminated ply. Got some plywood pieces and nice 3” brass plated screws.

This is an official announcement:
If the SHTF, I'm hiring out as the world's best seed sprouter. I can make seeds sprout and with large root systems. The seeds and I have an agreement. If I go to all the trouble of using the best seed starter and filling all those little cups, planting the seeds, and providing light and replenishing water when they need it, they have agreed to grow.

Now, can I make these seedlings produce food? I don't know.

I transplanted six kinds of tomatoes out of the little cups into larger containers. There are three to four tomatoes in each larger container. I had to get them out of those little cups. The roots on all those seedlings were extensive.

sockmonkey, I transplanted four Tycoon tomatoes from the seed you sent me and they look strong. There are 4th of July tomatoes and Sweet Million tomatoes, and Mortgage Lifter, and Cosmonaut tomatoes, and Better Boy. Also transplanted hot pepper mix.

I have four Cherry Punch tomatoes coming up from seed now. Those are the ones that have three times more Vitamin C than other tomatoes. That is also the one I want to try to grow inside in the winter. These are suggested to be container tomatoes and they produce to eating size in 40 something days. They are also indeterminate so will produce throughout the winter if I get them to go inside. The ones coming up now will be outside in containers and it will be interesting to see if they produce all summer.

I think you guys told me tomatoes have to be protected from extremely hot sun a part of the day. Is that right? Johnny, did you tell me that in regard to Texas sun?

I checked outdoor containers today and those four grow bags with carrot seed in them “may” be producing little green plants but I am not sure those are carrots. That potting soil was there last year and these teeny tiny plants could be there due to the trees back of me getting their children in those grow bags. I put gobs of carrot seed in those bags and planted them like it said, but I'm not at all sure I have carrots growing in fact, as I think on it, I don't think those are carrots coming up. Darn.

The green shoots of the Walking Onions are as tall as 12-16 inches tall. They are kicking butt. I can see teeny, tiny, lettuce up in the long wood planter. They don't appear to be growing as fast as I think they should (but what do I know).

I have placed blooming Lantana close to the strawberries that also have blooms so I hope some flying insects find them. I have bumped the blossoms of the strawberries against each other, hoping to spread pollen where it needs to be.

I just looked at the Fingerling potatoes in the paper bag in the pantry and there is growth out of the eyes but it is tiny so it's going to take a while to get enough growth to plant those.

I am ordering larger containers today for all these tomatoes and for four Tromboncino and for the tobacco and for all the cucumbers in smaller pots outside. This should complete the containers I need.

Then, it's sit and wait and hope food grows. I have hemlock poison (Socretes drank that) to take if I get no food. :o)
