I had to make powdered sugar for the glaze. All I had was regular caster sugar.
Coffee grinders sure come in handy.
You wouldn't believe how much heat that generates, though... reducing regular sugar crystals to superfine powder...

rightly, I found a Walgreen's brand called “Nice” and one of the pastry items they make is called “Glazed Honey Buns”. They are where bread is in that store. I bought a box because they were inexpensive, and the buns are individually wrapped. Took one out of the wrapping and stuck it in the micro for several seconds and it was very tasty as the glaze appears to be honey rather than regular sugar but it could be a mixture of the two. Anyway, for a warm tasty bun I found it to be good. The next time I was in there, they were out of these buns and found them another day, so sometimes they are there and sometimes they are out.
Since Johnny doesn't have a donut service route, I'll use these substitute buns.
