I’m thinking of taking some of the empty syrup pots. I just read to grow sweet potatoes, one should cut a piece and when it grows some “stems”, carefully remove the stems and plant them in the soil. Does that sound right?

Yes. We used to take a few sweet potatoes from the previous year and put them in a dark area. They would grow shoots and we would take them and plant them on a terrace. Get ready for long vines.

I use molasses tubs that farmers have for their cows. Drill a few holes in the bottom for drainage. I have a nice crop of carrots in one now.

Thank you, I’ll be planting those stems today.
