Last night was miracle night in the garden.

The four grow bags with carrot seed in them had no carrots coming up yesterday and today have GOBS OF CARROTS up.

I'VE GOT BABY STRAWBERRIES! I saw none yesterday. Now, there are baby strawberries everywhere on those 30-40 plants. I must have missed some of those yesterday as some are large enough I should have seen them. If the baby strawberries are growing in the middle of where blooms were, they are viable strawberries, right?

Over night, the 8 tobacco plants in four pots have huge leaves compared to yesterday. They have got to go in bigger pots immediately if not sooner.

The EZ Lettuce is taller in the long wood planter than yesterday. The St. Anne lettuce is definitely up in the three foot long planter and they weren't up yesterday.

There were two squirrels on the wall today and they surely wanted in but Prissy keeps them out of the garden.

How to remove duct tape when it is solidly stuck/fastened to a doggy's paw:
Yesterday Prissy was outside and when I let her in she had stepped on a piece of duct tape that had come off a pot. I cut off what I could but the rest was stuck like concrete on that paw. There was no way to cut any more off. Later, I got a call from engineer checking on me. I told him about the tape and paw and he said put some cooking oil in a bowl and stick her paw in it, then gradually work the oil under the edges of the tape and it will let go.

I did that with Prissy sitting on the top of the stove so she wouldn't try to get away if she didn't like my doing this, and I worked the oil gradually under the tape and it peeled off immediately when the oil hit it. It took no longer than five minutes and I think it was less, to get that tape off with no pulling, it just peeled off completely letting go as oil got on it. If you ever want tape off something, get oil under one bit and that bit will unglue and keep pushing the oil under the tape and it's coming off.

That's the way of tobacco. They stay tiny for what seems like forever, and then suddenly, tobacco!

That's what ruined my second marriage... oil got under the duct tape. ;)

I am so glad your plants are growing well. I actually planted some potatoes today. Will plant another bunch tomorrow. Today was the Dakota Pearls. Tomorrow the russets, and the day after some supermarket leftovers that sprouted.

I have 3 rectangular planters half full of soil, that I will add some of the mushroom compost to about 3/4 inch from the top. I’ll be planting leaf lettuce, baby romaine lettuce, and spinach in those.
