Put some tomato seedlings and spinach seeds in yesterday. I also have shallots, onions and garlic planted. I have carrots growing in a container, since my neighbor had good luck with that last year.

I’ll be putting turnips and leaf lettuce in the garden tomorrow. I plan to plant some bush beans and see how they grow. I have enough room for a few bushes and we love fresh beans.

You’ve made good progress. We are going to grow some dry beans this year. We have lots of canned beans from last year still left. Nor sure we’ll have them all eaten before the new crop of green beans is ready for picking.

I’m going for Pintos and Great Northern. Hubby is going to let some of his top crop mature to the dry bean stage.

We love green beans too. I’ve planted 5/6 beans in my Keyhole garden, I know where one is, ‘cause I have a little
tower over it, I think 2 are in the outer corner of the V
in the garden, to protect the smaller plants when the sun
gets hot. Where the others are???????????, who knows. T
radishes, I transplanted didn’t even know they had been moved, the red onions are doing very well.
This past Saturday, we had a great Community Garden Day. Everyone of the “raised” gardens were taken and planted. We
served hot dogs at lunch with water and soda. Now we’re
in the process of making more raised gardens. I’m going
to take a bunch of pictures then follow the season with more
pictures until whenever. That was the best time. I had set
aside 3 gardens, shaped in a H, but someone wanted all 3 for
their plants. So now all I have is a syrup pot and my Keyhole garden. I’m thinking of taking some of the empty
syrup pots.
I just read to grow sweet potatoes, one should cut a piece and when it grows some “stems”, carefully remove the stems
and plant them in the soil. Does that sound right? My
potatoes rotted. GRRR. I’m going to plant some fingerlings and see what happens. My squash is doing what
squash plants are supposed to do.
Tomorrow I’m going to fill my home raised garden with the
fingerlings, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, and in a home
syrup pot, I’m going to put in my canteloupes. My Kandy Korn is beginning to show. I planted some hybrid sweet
corn, especially treated to grow in pots. I guess the seeds
are still deciding if they want to grow, ‘cause nothing is
going on in that pot.
