Dan Zimmerman at The Truth About Guns asks Could Connecticut Gun Laws Spark Another Waco?
Theres been a lot of discussion among members of the Armed Intelligentsia lately about how Connecticuts finest might proceed if they decide to confiscate unregistered guns from the states 100,000 or more newly-minted felons. The level of concern is evidenced by daily long comment threads, speculative posts by people who are not members of law enforcement, and even a couple of contributed opinions from the LEO community. The rational consensus seems to be that if the gun-grab order were given, cops would pinch a registration scofflaw at the grocery store, at work, on the road
anyplace other than his or her home where a Ruby Ridge-style tragedy might ensue. Here I propose the alternativethat LEOs might not in fact be that rational if and when the time comes . . .

We can only hope that when push comes to shove, the tough talkers will be tough doers.
I suspect that too many militarized police agencies will send in their death squads (aka ‘SWAT’ teams) to kill a number of the disobedient as an object lesson to everyone else to submit to their masters.
Wrong thread?
Well...ya. Fixin’ to get that fixed.
We can only hope that when push comes to shove, the tough talkers will be tough doers.

Don’t bet too heavily on it. There are always some, but many of the barking dogs are fit only for barking. By the same token some quiet and overlooked ones will surprise you.
The first shot in this coming conflagration will — again — be heard ‘round the world.
And once that happens, ALL government agencies and personnel become an army of occupation. That never ends well for the occupiers. (But we would finally get rid of the liberal cancer that is metastitizing so rapidly.)
CT could very well be the catalyst.
> I wonder....was Lopez an Iraq war veteran, who was being evaluated for posttraumatic stress disorder but had not been diagnosed?
How does one get PTSD without actually being in combat?
***the tough talkers will be tough doers***
Not likely. Just a bunch of spoiled blowhards making idle threats, like always.
They won’t give 100 bucks to conservative candidates to run against the liberal politicians. They show up at public meetings looking like they are waiting for the bar at the VFW to open and try to intimidate the politicians.
Elections have consequences, and they lost, bad. The LEOs will do as they are told, not blaming any of them as they all have families to feed.
There will be several big examples made of folks already known to the police, and a big stink will be made. In the end, the guns will be turned in and wives will snitch on their husbands out of fear of losing their house and livelihood.
It is already baseball season, and DWTS is in summer reruns, as long as the cable and internet are working, there will be no mass demonstrations and no resistance.
they're comingis a terrorist message, therefore not covered by the 1st amendment and essentially testifying against oneself.)
“Unless the state of CT holds in abeyance any enforcement of this intolerable act — at least until the Supreme Court can rule — you can count that some day, in the wee hours of the morning, someone’s phone will ring and the voice on the other end will say, “They’re coming.””
We live in a time when there is no such thing as an anonymous phone call or email. The fact that every phone call has an instantly traceable fingerprint will cut down on this early warning scenario probably to the point of eliminating it. NSA will record even a call from a throwaway phone and the voice print may give the caller away. There will be only a limited number of people to crosscheck.
Also, I fully expect most will allow themselves to be arrested without incident and fight it out in court. The problem comes in when the SWAT fires first because they’ve been filled with liberal nightmares. WACO, Ruby Ridge and the Elian Gonzales incidents were utterly ridiculous examples of everything wrong with “law” enforcement.
‘They wont give 100 bucks to conservative candidates to run against the liberal politicians. ‘
Ammo is pretty expensive. I imagine the millions being sent to gunmakers is being repurposed from political donations.
Read this.
Seems these days if a vet stubs his toe he’s got PTSD enough to go on a killing spree of his fellow soldiers.
“An Army of One,” as they used to say.
Oops. Wrong thread.
History proves they prefer the latter.
Doubt that will happen.
