I have some antiques on CL and chose to be notified via the CL relay notification method. What is it with those that ask me to email them direct and put in a Gmail address. One time I copied the address and sent a test from a gmai account and it said "no such user" Do the want to send me attachments and trash my iMac? Just curious if any Frpeer Techie know
I recommend texting and phone calls for Craigslist interaction. Then I recommend exchanges in public places, during the day, with a team (preferably while carrying concealed). I’ve met a lot of very pleasant, hard working and honest folks this way and have never had a problem.
But I do keep separate e-mail accounts for this sort of stuff as well.
The email address at CL is for sending, not receiving mail. I mention this because you tried to send to it from your G mail address, or have I misinterpreted?
Try replying to your own listing.
I input a gmail address that was in a reply to an item and sent a message from another gmail account that I use only for this stuff and in came back undeliverable

The CL relay reply has and ors work fine.
My concern is with those that want a response via the email they post in the body of their reply to my items.
I have yet to “Reply” to any unsolicited emails anywhere.
if they ask to email another account or say is the “item” still available its a scam.
When I use CL I put in the ad Phone calls only, email and text will not be answered. That stops all the BS.
I used to use a Hot Mail addy for stuff like that. If there was a mail I was looking for I scanned the crap out of it.
And anyway, G mail sucks. It's very open for exploitation. I used it as a business address for ordering from trusted suppliers. Occasionally I would duplicate the mail on another mail client.
Mail client A: 1 mail. one response. G mail: 1 mail 5-10 responses, all garbage.

If I put an ad on CL and get a response asking about the “item,” and they insist that I don’t respond via CL but via their personal Gmail account, I simply mark it as a scam.
There’s no reason why they can’t use the CL anonymizing relay for the first communication or three, and give you an opportunity to see if they’re legit.

Me too as the CL relay system seems to work OK and is CL recommended process for contacting buyers and sellers
