If they make a Keurig that cooks steel cut oats, then I might be mildly interested.

I have a Keurig sitting in the garage. Didn’t like it at all. Costs too much and coffee just doesn’t taste like fresh brewed. Takes me 2 minutes to make oatmeal on the stove too. Sheesh.
People really need to slow down a little.

So... we are no longer capable of boiling water or using a microwave?

Honestly, instant oatmeal is easier than this.

When my daughter was young I used the microwave in the morning for oats for her. As fast as a Keurig and much cheaper.

I love the K cups but I have to search for them on sale only. I find them cheap in Big Lots.

Better yet, you can just leave the “brew cup” slot empty on the Kuerig and just get hot hater. Which you can then use with instant oatmeal and bypass the more expensive and complicated system presented here.

Big Lots is my grocery store. It’s within walking distance and Wallymart is three miles away...........

That Keurig thing for coffee pods is more of an idiot tax than PowerBall, and makes horrible coffee to boot.

I remember using a coffeemaker to boil water into a large cup with Oatmeal that would be ready by the time I got out of the shower in the morning. Simple, and I could brew some coffee in the time it took to finish the oatmeal then drink the coffee on the way to work.

All this talk of breakfast. I'm going to go and make a couple of scrambled egg sandwiches now. With cheese. And mayo.

Cheers!

Oh yummy!!! We have a sailboat and the hot water heater went out. They are expensive to replace. Never use hot water for anything except doing dishes so I just run some water through the coffee maker and have hot water for dishes. Lol
Ingenuity...........

I’ll stick with my daily bowl of Irish steel cut.

Love my keurig. Some have their water temp too hot and get a plastic taste.

You have figured out the key to the Keurig; it is not that difficult to find your favorite coffee, tea, or other K-cups for 40-45 cents a cup. Quick, easy, no wasted half-pots or refrying old coffee. It has actually been cheaper in the long run than our coffee-pot systems that we paid as much for as the Keurig.

Oatmeal is better done on the stove or with instant-add boiling water. I might try the Keurig version but there are other instant oatmeal cups that size out there that work just as well by running hot water from the Keurig into them. I’ve tried a couple, mixed results.
