So who’s the beech???
Disgusting.
I’m from NY19.
Eldridge has no idea how to appeal to the District. He’ll get his 40% who are guaranteed to vote Democrat always, but not much more.
He’ll lose. And his husband won’t be happy about how much of his money he’s wasted.
When New York voted for Gay Marriage, 3 of the 6 State Senators who changed their mind were from NY19, and none of them were re-elected:
- Steve Saland (R) faced primaries in his Duchess/Columbia district for both the Republican and Conservative party lines. Saland barely won the Republican line over challenger Neil DiCarlo, who won the Conservative line. Vote-splitting in the general allowed Terry Gipson (D) to sneak through and steal this seat.
- RINO Roy McDonald (R) was defeated in both the Republican and Conservative primaries by Kathy Marchione (my new AWESOME state senator!!) who went on to easily win the general in this Columbia/ Rensselaer district. Her opponent happened to be a gay rights activist and lesbian. It would have been very strange indeed to have seen McDonald trying to out-GBLT his lesbian opponent, but fortunately we were not presented with that farce. For its reward, the Establishment ended up with a much more conservative senator in Marchione than they had in McDonald.
- James Alesi (R) of Monroe County did not even bother seeking re-election. He also had a personal issue that was working against him, but even so, he had no chance.
