If they drilled 22,000 true vertical depth, they drilled completely through the Bakken/Three Forks formation. And a well actually completed in a formation 22,000' below the surface of the earth is almost certainly going to produce mostly gas and perhaps a bit of condensate, not crude oil. There would be very little oil coming out of that hole, if any.
Color me skeptical.

If a well drilled 22,000 ft. TVD, they drilled better than 7000 ft. into basement rock in that part of the Williston Basin. Not only would that be a colossal waste of time, but it would take a lot of time and be very expensive. My BS meter is pegged.
