University of New Mexico cornerback SaQwan Edwards has become the latest student to be arrested in a gang rape in which a female student claims she was assaulted by three men in a moving car.
The 21-year-old from Houston remained jailed after surrendering Tuesday on a warrant accusing him of criminal sexual penetration and kidnapping. He has also been dropped from the team.

Why do parents insist on giving their kids names that are sad parodies of real names and make them the subject of ridicule behind their backs, even by their friends?
Just look at the names of the NFL players today. You couldn’t make them up if you were on LSD, and I think it is insulting to the individuals to have a name that is just plain weird.
You can be different without being made into a subject of derision.
And believe me, I would have killed my parents if they had named me “Bartholomeu” or however it is spelled. The same applies for any poor girl named “Gertrude” (aka “Gravel Gertie”).
