there are those who say that some of the founding fathers were closet agnostic and perhaps even atheist...some did some not very Christian things (as the ladies of Paris might be able to confirm), and there was no sign of being repentant.
The country would not have been founded if there were a plethora of atheists among the Founding Fathers.
