I have used several different distros as well, before finally settling on one standard that works across many machines and is based upon Debian Stable. Tried Win 7.x and 8.x (they arrived pre-installed in some machines) and was not impressed at all. I really see no reason why people should be forced to upgrade to them when a single Linux install will take care of most tasks they need accomplished on the computer with the default programs included on the distro they choose.

Maybe it's the name... -then again, there is a Linux distro out there named "Pear" I believe, so perhaps that will convince some to try it.

Looks like Mr. Gates won’t be the first trillionaire after all.
