And the other side to that story. My tonsils sounded like yours when I was a kid. My pedi told my mom that I’d probably outgrow it. Surprise surprise I did! Still have them. Haven’t had tonsillitis in 40 years now.

He died a few years ago. Complications from having had polio. He was a coin flip that ended up on the wrong side in that case. He was alive but had all sorts of health and physical problems. He had to relearn to walk and feed himself. He’d been a promising little league pitcher. Never able to play baseball again.
I’m still questioning the SV40 contaminent. I’m sure our government has given us up to date and completely truthful information on that one. Just like the IRS. And BLM. And EPA. And NOAA. And etc...
After my son had his second round of shots, he got really sick, real sick, for dang near a month. That’s when I started looking into things seriously.
My kids and most don’t have any adverse events.
Some, a very small percentage can get sick and even die.
It’s a small percent, but there are a lot of people in the country and world.
It’s an allergic reaction type thing in most cases.
I’m glad your boy got better.

I’ve seen reports that the newer strain has 10 times the mortality and morbidity of the old one. Kind of like MRSA/antibiotic resistance, only with Pertussis.
The other side of that story is those who have claimed to have had severe tonsillitis or appendicitis at one time or another because they had a sore throat or some lower stomach cramps (i.e. some gas) but somehow thought they did but did not and never actually ever had either severe tonsillitis or appendicitis, and they actually survived their never non-life threatening condition. Surprise surprise!

My pedi was trained at Johns Hopkins. He was from an era when kids died of real diseases. They kept an eye on my tonsillitis and sure enough, I outgrew it. He began practice before antibiotics. And told my mom that only in a few really bad cases did it mean anything other than sleepless nights for the mom.

Likewise, at age 9, my wife was diagnosed with polio after receiving the polio vaccine. She has lived with polio for the last 53 years. She is a strong willed woman who has achieved success beyond all expectations despite her handicap. You would not like to hear her input on the subject of vaccination.
Neither of our children were vaccinated. Her younger siblings were never vaccinated either. None have suffered any ill effects over the years from not being vaccinated.
To be fair, her younger brother was vaccinated after high school when he entered West Point because it was required.
And not many know that some doctors choose not to vaccinate their children. Ask your doctor if his children were vaccinated.
