It annoys the crap out of me that peppermint is considered a seasonal flavor when it’s one of the all-time best ice cream flavors, and worse yet, that it’s a WINTER seasonal. It’s an ideal SUMMER ice cream, cool, crisp, refreshing. More savory aalty-sweet stuff like pecan praline or something like that makes more sense in winter.

Peppermint ice cream on a chocolate brownie and hot chocolate sauce, NOT fudge sauce, is the best holiday treat. I guess it goes with Christmas why it’s so seasonal. It’s even hard to find in the best gourmet stores anytime.

My mother always made homemade peppermint and homemade peach every summer, the old fashioned way. It was soooo good.
