And you continue to be rude, calling names and not answering questions.
Great debate skills.
We have oil and gas reserves, we may have coal, no one has really ever looked, we have gold, silver and other precious and semi precious minerals.
Without the EPA and DEP strangle hold we have manufacturing opportunities aplenty.
And the list goes on and is enhanced by having no welfare.
Maine's current Constitution currently allows three methods of secession, the vote is but one.
In answer to your question, maybe pretty good now, but if you reworded your question to read:
"Just curious. What are the real chances of secession actually happening?"
The answer would be very good to excellent.
NO!
Yes we can.
"Friday, May 26, 2017 Four maybe five ways to secession
My dear Christian and Patriot Mainers, did you know that there are four maybe five ways that Maine can be free and independent Country and not simply a member state of the Union.
The Constitution of Maine allows for three, maybe four passages while the US Constitution declares one. Let's look at that one.
Maine, in direct conflict with the US Constitution allows for a system called the Peoples Referendum that is purely democratic and not Republican in any way shape or form. By the Union allowing this miscarriage of justice and anti-Republican method of undermining both Constitution, the union has violated it's end of the US Constitution and therefore making it null and void.
Now the most interesting part of secession, by any of the four maybe five LEGAL methods is this. Chellie Pingree, Angus King, Susan Collins and Bruce Poliquin could and would immediately be enemies of the state and could be either arrested of executed upon entry into free nation of Maine by any means other than arrest and extrication from the remaining states.
The Supreme Court of Maine, the Legislature of Maine, and the Schools would have already declared this it, and that is a HUGE IF, they ever bothered to read The Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution and the Constitution of Maine.
But, the first step in undermining the freedom of the citizens of Maine is to both teach and defecate on those three blessed documents."
President Obama won in ME by 110,000 votes or almost 17%.
TROM is telling us that ME will go from voting 57% for a socialist to voting 60% to secede from the Union in a few years.
In order to overcome the deficit and get to 60% in that time, he needs to find 300,000 more voters - ME's population needs to increase by more than 33% in that time frame, maybe 40% since his targeted newcomers have larger than average families.
ME has about 10,000 houses on the market in any given year and about 700,000 total. So ME's housing stock would have to increase by about 25% or more over that period, or at about 20 times its normal pace.
Quite obviously this is a fool's errand, but the conceit of the thread is that we should ignore the impossibility of the scheme.
Or decrease to 650,000 or so.
That is one huge problem and question, as of this very moment there is no answer.
My particular "denomination" has a tradition of public celebrations on the Lord's Day, usually involving food as well as drink and even music. Will these traditions be permitted to continue out-of-doors as they have been for centuries in this new Republic of Maine?
What denomination is that?
I have a lake house in Maine, but I go to the Saturday night Mass and ride my motorcycle on Sundays so this won’t work for me.
Maine ping to ya
Are Catholics allowed to be a part of the “new” Maine?
Will you undo the cannabis law voters in Maine voted for?
Roman Catholic
Remember the Free State Project?
**...the entire border of Maine with both Canada and the United States, must be secured by Militia members and their families, resulting in nearly every square foot of land on the border being deeded over to members of the Militia who will live on the border, these parcels will range in size between 500 acres and 1500 areas**
Raw land, mostly timber, in Fort Kent [area], Maine, is going anywhere from $500 - $1000/acre.
Unless you like Christmas trees/forest, there is nothing up there. Nothing.
I believe the Irving Family owns most of the land, on both sides of the border.
...and *Uncle Henry’s* on Thursdays! ;)
Where is your lake house, what town?
