When I was 18 years old in CA I walked into a Western Auto and walked out with a 12ga shotgun.

Freedom of Association. If you run a cake business, you can’t even turn away customers for moral reasons.

30 years ago, how many people were really afraid of the cops? Jeez, you knew they were there to serve and to protect. The crooks didn't like the cops, but that's the way it's supposed to be, right? Normal people may have worried about a ticket, but normal people knew that the cops weren't going to give them a hard time.
Today? I think virtually every American lives in fear of the cops. If you're lucky, they will only kill your dog. Say the wrong thing, and they'll beat you to death.

SNL had a great skit with Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor which involved the n-word.
Mel Brooks made "Blazing Saddles" which involved the n-word.
Not today.

High School or College graduation speech? Better not mention God — it’s practically illegal in this country.

The first personal check I ever wrote was to a gunshop for a Winchester 1200 when I was 14.

Take stroll through the Bill of Rights.
Few remain in force.
The rights we exercise are done so at the pleasure of Rome-on-the-Potomac.

I remember when there was no airport security. Everyone was free to go right up to the gates.

No more freedom to practice religion. At least for Christians.

Might as well mention smoking. You could smoke on a plane, on a train, in an office, in a bar or restaurant.
A lot of people said, "Stop the smokers! They're nasty!"
And that's pretty much how all freedoms get taken away. Someone, somewhere, somehow is offended. And *poof* you aren't so free anymore.

Are you kidding? If I have two beers in less than an hour and am pulled over not necessarily for driving poorly I could spend four months in jail and lose my license for 6 months.

Its illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to ride in the back of a pickup truck in my state.
Smoking on school property at any time anywhere is a ticketable offense.

Speaking of Rome on the Potomac, I used to wander the halls of Congress at will when I was a teenager. No guards or metal detectors to stop me.
