Now Mr. Hurd is off to jail and his son won't have a dad either.

A rash assumption, not supported by the evidence.
I, too, would vote to acquit.
I certainly hope Mr. Hurd demands a jury trial.

The article itself states that Mr. Hurd was taken to jail.

The man is charged with child abuse and corporal injury to a child.

I gather that you live or have lived in the area which would suggest that you might have some sense that the city is not exactly father friendly, family friendly or child-slapping friendly.

Though perhaps that particular leftist vibe escaped your notice?

Want to bet a $50 donation to FR that Mr. Hurd is sentenced to addition time? I will trust you to follow the news reports and let me know. If Mr. Hurd is on parole already etc. etc. and is merely compelled to finish his present term, then both of us will have to cough up $25.

Or is that also too rash for your fine SF sensitivities?
