well i don’t think we will have to wait that long to know about the Caps. The fact that they are not cutting Brooks Laich loose from his $6mil K, when he probably cannot even pass a physical, really sounds like they do NOT want to blow up this team but rather as McPhee was always saying, “we like our team.” I am afraid this is putting all of the pressure on Barry to produce, and while i know he is an excellent coach, he is not a miracle worker and he has no say-so over personnel, but can only work with that which is on his roster. It is very disappointing. This news today is demoralizing a lot of fans. Ted Leonsis is a control freak and does not want the team blown up, and hired a GM who will abide by his wishes.
BT has been doing that for the past 17 years. It’s what he does. Makes the best of bad situations when he cannot control the flow of personnel in or out. I wouldn’t worry.
