And ridicule is something the Savior taught... I'm sure.

Jesus had some pretty harsh words for the “religious” leaders of the day, harsh enough that “ridicule” isn’t much of a stretch.

That said, I would tend to agree you that it is more appropriate to be concerned about the eternal future than the distant past...

I live in the real world. In real life, evolution is a junk science ideological doctrine masquerading as a science theory and there actually are flavors of junk science which are relatively harmless, but evolution is not one of those. Evolution is a junk science doctrine with 200,000,000+ dead human bodies lying around to its credit. I am quite certain that God wants evolution and evolutionism out of this world, they've already done enough harm, and I'm also convinced that simple human laughter is the only thing which can do that.

The situation is similar to that of the emperor who went walking down the street naked. Evolution will die out in this land when it comes to the point that a teacher or professor cannot stand in front of students and talk about it without seeing eyes roll back and hearing snickering in the room; then they will just talk about it amongst themselves in conference rooms until a final generation of them dies of old age, and it's finally over.
