So you’re advocating that we engage in theft? What’s next? How best to rob a bank?

Carrying a balance on a credit card is as foolish, financially,as buying lottery tickets.

Long before Dave Ramsey came on the scene, I decided to live debt free.

My Mom and Dad were children of the Depression. My Dad,particularly, was dead set against being in debt. When he bought our "family homestead" he had it paid off in 8 years while properly supporting a wife and 4 kids.I learned from him...of the 4 pieces of residential real estate I've bought only the first one had a mortgage...and I paid that one off in 5 years.Today,I pay cash for cars...and I never carry a balance on a credit card.

I know that it’s just here for informational purposes, but some might say that you’re encouraging theft. How to beat the system, whether credit cards, Medicare fraud, welfare fraud, tax fraud, etc., is stealing.

And you have to lie to the court along the way.

That is theft.

It is. So is the banking system.

Please explain how the banking system is theft.

You are incorrect, but I’m not going to debate this.

Utilization is the principle factor, secondary to carrying & maintaining installment loans. Hence my comment ‘increase my debt’.

Yep. The whole thread is nothing but trolling and rationalization about how “I” can get out of my responsibilities “I” have said “I” would fulfill.

Truly a zot-rich environment.

But that was the point. The rules have changed for borrowers and for banks. Many borrowers do the things have changed and hold to the old ways. Of course the old ways are better but that’s not where we are.

Generally, a person who isn't going to debate, doesn't make assertions.

Psalm 37:21
The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;

Proverbs 3:27-28
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come again, tomorrow I will give it”—when you have it with you.

Ecclesiastes 5:5
It is better that you should not vow than that you should vow and not pay.

Truly dizzying logic you’ve got there.

When you establish that you’ve had “you’re money” stolen, then you go right ahead and go after it. But be a man and declare that you are doing it.

Signing your word that you will repay a loan and then reneging on that word is both lying and theft. That’s the fact of that matter.

If you don’t like the banks, stop dealing with them.

"If you made those purchases and had every intention of paying for them and due to an unforeseen loss of work later on, how is that stealing if you can honestly no longer afford to pay the debt and keep the lights on?

Please explain that to me."

Simple. Be upfront. Show good faith. Contact the credit card company and explain the situation. According to what I have read, just about all creditors will be willing to work out a payment plan with you, even if the payments are small.

When you have $120k in savings, use a cc to buy $500 in goods and services, and then pay off the card before any interest accrues, you have utilized credit without going into debt. I do it all the time and have a rating in the 800s.
