I was in Iraq working with a contractor from 2004-2006...we employed 200 Kurds but only 10 came to our group and I had 4-6 with me nearly everyday.They are Muslim only by default and when there was a job to complete, praying came later. I began to become interested in them and ask the soldiers about them and got only the greatest regards from the. The Army told me of almost unbelievable bravery by them and said it was very hard to control the Kurds on a mission because when the Kurds saw the Arabs there was only one thing...kill all of them. One soldier said they could not leave a captured Arab with the Kurds because the Kurds would take care of the interrogation for them except that the captured Arab had been tortured to death when they got back. Eventually they became devoted to me and ask me to represent them in talks with their leaders concerning tribal questions. They are the most hospitable and gracious people in the world...if you respect them and they know it. I miss them often.It was a highlight of my life...I loved them and they knew....one of them told me he woould give his live for me. With the Kurds, I dont think the Issis know what they are up against...time will tell.

Sorry for the misspellings...one other very odd fact...I was researching Kurds on the inet one day and found a blog by a freelance reporter in Northern Iraq at the same time I was there that published a blog about the Kurds and it sounded like he felt the same as me about them. Evidently he had connections and posted he was going to get a DNA sample from them and take it to some one that could perform the test because they were so different from all the Arabs there and he wanted to know where they came from. About 3 weeks later he posted the results on his blog. He said the technician that ran the test said that there was only one chromosome structure in all of the world like that....THEY ARE JEWISH
