1. Scooping ice cream is not “real hard work”. Roofing is real hard work.
2. Nice to know that the Obama’s acknowledge that they’ve never done real hard work, besides that stint scooping ice cream.

when i worked for minimum wage, (fast-food, retail) i was in high school and college, and i had lots of fun at these jobs with other people my age and a couple of "grown-ups," either in management positions, or who were contributing to their families' income...
actually, by the time i was 19-20, i no longer made minimum wage because when i applied for new positions, i had experience... so i made 50-80 cents more per hour than minimum wage...
during a couple of summers, i got to work at the local cannery... now that was HARD work--but very good money... and most of the employees were my mother's age...
