Then there was my 1949 Dodge Wayfarer Coupe. Basic black. Flathead six, fluid clutch, three passenger, no back seat (my parents approved of that ;-), humongous trunk, 3 on the tree, side vent windows, dimmer switch on the floor, the 'luxury' radio with *gasp* pushbuttons to store your favorite stations (with a vibrator supply - you know when it was time to buy a new vibrator - and no I'm not talking about the kind that Hillary uses - when you turned on the radio and you didn't hear the hummmm) and a neat little scoop located right in front of the windshield that popped up via a lever under the dash to provide ventilation that improved with speed...
It was my drive to college car in the mid 1960's. Wish I still had the car, but it was a casualty of relocating to NY from Ohio in the mid '70s.
