Ebola getting ‘out of control’
| Associated Press ^ | June 21, 2014 | Sarah DiLorenzo

The outbreak, which began in Guinea either late last year or early this year, had appeared to slow before picking up pace again in recent weeks, including spreading to the Liberian capital for the first time.

‘‘This is the highest outbreak on record and has the highest number of deaths, so this is unprecedented so far,’’ said Armand Sprecher, a public health specialist with Doctors Without Borders.

According to a World Health Organization list, the highest previous death toll was in the first recorded Ebola outbreak in Congo in 1976, when 280 deaths were reported. Because Ebola often touches remote areas and the first cases sometimes go unrecognized, it is likely that there are deaths that go uncounted, both in this outbreak and previous ones.

With everyone and anyone on the planet riding the wave into America during Barry and Val’s new “Humanitarian Tragedy” program, I expected Ebola to make it’s entry here any day now.

The American public will roll over and flip the channel on the 60" TV to the next soft-core porn reality show. This pandemic will be in full swing and killing thousands before most people even notice.

And most people won't be prepared for a quarantine situation. Most Americans don't have more than a few days of food in their homes; most less than that. And most have no respiratory protection on hand at home at all, not even a box of N95 masks.

This disease has the potential to decimate the American population, if it gets out, and is as virulent as it looks to be.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

There’s evidence HIV existed in the wild for a century before it had an outbreak large enough to get it out of small remote towns.

And here we are. Ebola doing what it can to do the same.

Oddly it kills so many, so fast, it supposedly limits the spread.

“Oddly it kills so many, so fast, it supposedly limits the spread.”

That’s the only “hopeful” thing about it. Truly scary.

Now back to the important issue of the day — transgender rights!!!!!

It’s a sign of the times. . . .

His disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?“ (Matthew 24:3) “… there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.“ (Luke 21:10; see also Matt 24:7, Mark 13:8)

Even the insects are infected: An amateur beekeeper in Burlington, Vt., last summer found honeybees infested with parasites that cause the insects to act erratically and eventually kill them. It was the first spotting of zombie bees east of South Dakota, according to John Hafernik, a professor of biology at San Francisco State University whose team in October verified the infestation. http://propheciesoftheendtimes.com/zombie-bees/

Those are words one never wants to see in the same sentence. Ebola and out of control. I remember learning about these things in Med School and it is scary stuff.

The typical version is so hot that infected parties become symptomatic overnight and are incapable of traveling. The current version has an extended incubation that includes ability to shed virus before exhibiting symptoms. It spreads more efficiently before killing the host. The blessing of a fast burnout has been lost.

What a great way to bring it to the US. Expose the kids crossing the border to infect our population. I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but can figure the terrorists are already planning on doing something like this. I hope I’m wrong.

Works good in small isolated communities. In a modern country with rapid transportation it may spread faster then it kills. Get an outbreak in a large US city and it could be in 10 different states before we even realize what’s happening.
