Hard to say exactly where this will land, but I'm sure glad my son is out here and not back there.

Joe really nailed this storm about two years ago. This is like storms in the 50’s when warm water along the East Coast spawned and powered storms not generated off Africa.

I could help Joe out here by pulling my sailboat onto dry land. In years past, when I have pulled it out, the hurricanes immediately veer east but when I haven’t it’s been a land falling storm. I’m more worried about our low lying house which we were putting on the market this weekend. Thank goodness for insurance...

I am battening down the hatches up in New England. Boarding up windows, laying in several cases of beer. Plenty of wood for the fireplace (in case lights go out for a week or so). I'll be filling the bathtub with water later this morning.

We are about 50 miles inland but not taking this lightly at all. The grill and lawn chairs are safely secured in the shed and I have thick ropes wrapped around the shed. By nightfall, we are going to hunker down with our stores and ride this one out. The neighbors think we are nuts but they won't be laughing tomorrow when the first thunderstorms come rumbling through the area.
