Ringo fit in a lot better than Pete Best, and Ringo's happy-go-lucky persona added a lot to the group's public appeal.

I wonder how it would've turned out if they'd have kept Pete.

My opinion is that without Ringo they never would have achieved the level of success and popularity they enjoyed , and they certianly wouldn’t have fared as well artistically because Ringo , despite whar some ignorant naysayers say , was quite an inventive drummer and had a feel that is almost impossible to copy . I know guys who play in Beatles tribute bands in Japan and they always say that .
