I have loaded some .44 for lever guns. Take advantage of the long barrel and use slower powder. I used W296 and H110 alot. Haven't loaded for awhile, those may be obsolete.

I like 24 gr H110 and a mag primer behind a 240 gr SP/HP. Powerful and accurate.
Don't use reduced loads with H110 or W296.

I think that 296 and 110 are now the same thing.
I’m pretty sure Alliant bought out Hodgen.

W296 and H110 are still made (good luck finding any) and are also used in loading .410 shotshells.
