Have you tried Pale Moon (they took open source from Firefox and made it better)

do they still have to pay money to Firefox

No they don't pay anything to Firefox. It's all open source code. Just make sure your Pale Moon has something besides Google as its default and in-browser search engine.

Stay away from anything Google.

My search engine is DuckDuckGo

I tried downloading Iceweasel (Debian’s version) and at the end of the download it lists Iceweasel as an object of Firefox, what am I missing?

Iceweasel resulted from a copyright issue between Debian and Mozilla - Mozilla holds the Firefox trademark so they had to change the name. Beyond that, it’s stripped of the Google stuff.

I had Firefox 28. I read the article and clicked on Help> About Firefox. Check for updates.

It downloaded version 30 and moved my icons that I had along the bottom the browser window to the top menu. It made all my buttons small with no text underneath. I had Big icons and text prior to the update.

I also now see a RED menu and I have the tabs above the web address field. Totally messed things up. BTW it looks like Google Chrome. If I want Chrome I would use it.

No wonder Firefox is losing share.

I installed:
“Classic Theme Restorer (Customize Australis) 1.2.2”

It has reset back most of what I had.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

I still have that red. It is now blended with grey.
It turns out it is your title bar color under Personalize in Windows 7 (control panel). Change that color and it changes in Firefox.

Why would Firefox even pick up that color?!!

After more searching I found a post that fixed the color issue for the toolbar menu.

Open a new tab and type in the web address field: about:config

Scroll thru listed to find: browser.tabs.drawInTitleBar
Change by double clicking to: false
Now back to the normal grey color!!

Same here, I’ve been using Palemoon since his firing. Will not go back nor will I recommend it to others.
