What movie should have had a sequel?

Posted on 07/12/2014 8:29:26 PM PDT by MNDude

Most of the times, it is better off if the sequel to a movie was not made. There are probably a few movies that would have been nice to have one. Which movie(s) do you think should have had a sequel?

Agree. Arguably the worst movie ever made. Meatballs II is close though.

The most "desired" sequel was probably Ghostbusters III.

Ramis and Aykroyd had a script in their back pocket for decades.

But Harold Ramis and Bill Murray had a falling out over Groundhog Day, and didn't want to work with each other ever again.

Ramis died earlier this year, and at the Academy Awards, Murray did an ad-lib shout out to him.

So maybe they could have gotten it done.

Honestly I didn't really like GBII that much, so maybe it's just as well.

I didn't know this until recently, but if you see the end credits of The Grey, there's a scene with a dead Liam Neeson.

IMHO, it really didn't NEED a sequel. It was pretty obvious that Neeson was doomed at the end.

I liked the ending as is.

Red Dawn. This time, the enemy is... the Americans.

Yeah, I’ve thought the same thing.

But anyway, lately I’ve been thinking how much I miss there not being any new John Wayne movies. I know he died a long time ago but I loved his movies. But with the kind of country we seem to be becoming (one that would elect Obama twice) maybe a John Wayne wouldn’t still be popular.

There was a made-for-TV sci-fi/drama movie called, “Starcrossed” with James Spader and Belinda Bauer made in 1985 (a year after Star Man).

Belinda Bauer was also in the sci-fi movie, “Timerider: The Adventure of Lyle Swann” (1982).

Thinking about it now they should have made a sequel of that, too!

Excellent Movie:

“The Gathering Storm” is a BBC–HBO co-produced television biographical film about Winston Churchill in the years just prior to World War II. The title of the film is that of the first volume of Churchill’s largely autobiographical six-volume history of the war, which covered the period from 1919 to 3 September 1939, the day he became First Lord of the Admiralty

The film stars Albert Finney as Churchill and Vanessa Redgrave as his wife Clementine Churchill (”Clemmie”);

Groundhog Day.

Ever see the new Tom Cruise movie, The Edge of Tomorrow? It's Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers. Yeah, Tom is an idiot, but some of his movies are actually pretty good. Like Looney Clooney in The Peacemaker. I take these decent roles from the idiots and I prefer to leave them in the likable personnas in which I view the movie.
