I hope not! Germany is commanding the match but Argentina has read their strategy. The 2nd half will open up.

Germany hits the woodwork!

They looked much better in the last five minutes, hopefully it will carry over.

Halftime 0-0 Germany-Argentina.

Its been an exciting first half with both sides having one too many offside calls to score.

Argentina’s playing the frustration game pretty well so far… the Germans are typically unflappable but their tackling today has been very sloppy & the Argentines are moving the ball in close quarters like they’re on the playground.

I think that’s very likely. We could be looking at extra time and possibly a penalty shootout.

Both very good teams here evenly matched.

Ok these world cup games are actually pretty intense.

No break just 45 minutes without even commercials, then halftime, and they repeat.

Not bad.

Argentina is playing very well defensively and the Germans just can’t dominate them with their fast attacking style.

On the other hand, Germany knows Messi is dangerous and when he’s good on a breakaway, it spells trouble.

They need to find a way to neutralize the Argentine defense if they want to win in regulation time.

Good joke about today’s match from the Lutheran Satire:

World Cup Rooting Guide: If you and your family are from Germany, root for Germany. If you and your family are from Argentina, root for Argentina. If you are from Argentina but your family is from Germany, repent.”
