The only reason TB in this country got under control and for the most part disappeared was antibiotics. The issue now is antibiotic resistant strains are seen more and more.

The other issue is that as I understand it even TB that is not antibiotic resistant needs to be treated aggressively for at least a year- medical people say most patients will not stick with the treatment- if caught early the person does not feel sick so they have a hard time believing such an aggressive treatment is really needed and fool themselves into thinking it will be ok to just quit their meds and regular checkups.

This all just sounds like a recipe for disaster- and the illegals many more diseases than just TB.
