This may be why you see so many “post-Judaism” Jews drifting into Zen Buddhism. The “no attachments” philosophy would be appealing if you already think those attachments are what cause people to do bad things.
The problem with that silly theory for how America Jews vote, is that the Jewish vote and their politics didn't change at all following WWII.

Sure, they are liberal, but the question is “why are they so liberal?” Especially as it seems to be against their traditional religious beliefs and against their own self-interest.
Anyways, I don’t think you can look even at 150 years of voting records to undermine the author’s thesis. Jews were persecuted by Christians long before they ever got the right to vote, so we have no way to really judge if their political leanings were shaped by that by looking at voting records.

I’m not even sure what you are trying to argue here, but listen. The FReeper who posted this article is the author, and if you want to argue against HIS thesis, why don’t you post your comments in his direction?
He is Jewish, and a former liberal, and I am going to go out on a limb and assume that he knows a little bit more about what forms the average Jewish liberal’s thought processes than a couple of gentile conservatives like us looking from the outside in.
You can’t blame Christians for American Jews being liberal in Christian America, until recently both parties were Christian, and it is idiotic to claim that there is genetic or ancient coding to how Americans vote.
The black vote switched and totally reversed itself in a single election, only Jews have never voted republican.

No. Jews have never given a majority vote to a Republican, at least for the last hundred years. Several times, I think, they gave a plurality vote to a Republican, but never a majority.
Many Jews do not support Israel, no joke. I have questioned several on this topic and what I hear is “Israel is too harsh” “mean to the neighbors” and things of that nature. The Jews I have talked to about this in fact have more kinship with Democrats than they do Israel. Makes no sense to me, but what I have found. They are as brainwashed to support liberals as blacks are.
I’ve seen that too - American Jews who do not support Israel. Very odd but then again these are liberals we are talking about.
